Introduction

Ms. Harshita Ganga, a top-ranked senior at Mason High School in Cincinnati, OH, excels both as a student-athlete and a passionate scholar with a keen interest in neuroscience, biology, and healthcare. She has distinguished herself as a USABO semifinalist, Mathcounts nationals qualifier, Science Bowl nationals qualifier, and an AIME qualifier. She also actively participates in the Science Olympiad and HOSA, where she placed in the top 10 at ILC (internationals) in the pathophysiology and Human Heredity events. Harshita is passionate about research and has various publications. She also worked on various projects to solve real-world health problems using bioinformatics and technology. This has earned her the NCWIT Aspirations in Computing (AiC) High School National Award and Ohio region affiliate Award.

Our mission is to empower individuals on the autism spectrum and those with developmental disabilities by nurturing their unique talents and abilities.

Spectrum Empowerment is a nonprofit organization primarily based in Ohio, with chapters established globally and run by dedicated high school students. We aim to introduce children on the autism spectrum and those with developmental disabilities to various aspects of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math), sports, and special events such as Dental Day, rocket launching, and brain yoga through live, structured classes. Our engaging activities allow children to explore exciting tools and experiments, fostering their curiosity and enriching their learning experiences. Tailored for kids with special needs, our programs promote peer interaction and enhance social skills development through one-on-one instruction and collaborative group activities.

Harshita loves expressing herself through art, especially with pencil, charcoal, and painting. For her, creating art is a way to relax and unwind, allowing her to explore different subjects and let her creativity shine. Whether she’s working on detailed portraits or colorful pieces, art brings her joy and helps her convey her feelings. Harshita enjoys playing both the piano and the violin, often performing at various places, including retirement homes. One of her favorite things to do is bring joy to others through her music. Most importantly, she cherishes her time with family. Whether they’re having fun together or just chatting, those moments mean the world to her and give her the support she needs to chase her dreams.
